September UK User Group Meeting Presentation Links

Last Monday’s user group meeting in Reading was full of excellent information.  Patrick Tissegham had to distill a week’s worth of information into about an hour and a half but he did a fine job introducing the group to Office Business Applications (OBA).  Steve Lamb reminded us that Security Matters and made some very good points about SharePoint development in specific and overall security concerns in general.

The highlight of the evening, aside from retiring to the pub afterwards for a few pints and general conversation, was when Patrick was running through a code demo and set the Trust Level to ‘Full’.  He joked that "we’re developers so we don’t care a bout security", which got a chuckle from the audience, especially considering Steve was about to take the stage and preach the security gospel.  How’s that for comedic timing?

I haven’t been able to attend the last few meetings due to obligations on my own side of the pond so it was good to see Nick Swan, Ben Robb, Colin Byrne (hey, Colin, where’s that blog of yours, anyway?), and the rest of the UK gang.   If you missed it, don’t miss the next one.  It’s hard to get this kind of information in person and be able to quiz the presenters, both experts in their fields, afterwards in a casual atmosphere.

Steve’s slides can be found here.  I’ll pass on the link to Patrick’s presentation as soon as he posts it.
