Commuting with the SharePoint Podshow

Posted on

When people ask me where my office is, I’ve often joked that it’s my Chevy Silverado. That’s probably more true than I’d like it to be; I do spend a lot of my time driving between clients (or on airplanes, in which case my office address switches to seat 20B). Lately I’ve been filling the travel time with episodes of the SharePoint Podshow. With the exception of recent episodes that were…um…a bit on the lighter side, I’ve found that this is a really good way to put myself in the proper frame of mind for the day. It’s good to hear perspectives from other professionals in the field, especially those who focus more on admin than development, and listen to their take on various SharePoint-related topics. I find myself agreeing or disagreeing and often catch myself arguing with the speaker before I realize that I’m the only one around (this is best done in a vehicle and not on an airplane – you tend to get strange looks from other passengers).

Rob Foster, Nick Swan and Brett Lonsdale do a fantastic job putting the podshows togther (I even did one of the early ones – if you can stomach my Texas drawl you can have a listen to it here). You can download all the shows from their website or, if you’re the iPod type, I believe they’re also available on iTunes. So go check ’em out. And keep up the good work guys!
