Announcing New Version of the Visual Studio Extension for SharePoint Framework

Posted on

We have released an updated version of the Visual Studio Extension for SharePoint Framework projects. Version 1.3.3 includes support for SPFx extensions, including Field Customizers, Command Sets and Application Customizers. Also included is support for on-premises web parts in SharePoint 2016 FP2. You can update existing versions of the extension in the Visual Studio gallery or download the source code from the PnP GitHub repo:

The extension works with Visual Studio 2015 and 2017. To perform a file-based installation, remove the existing installed version then double-cick the VSIX file to install (requires a restart of Visual Studio). For more information on getting started with the extension, refer to the project Wiki page. As always, we look forward to hearing your input and ideas for future enhancements.

P.S. – Kudos and many thanks to Paul Schaeflein for all his hard work on this release and Vesa Juvonen for helping out behind the scenes.
